Ryoko Kimura was born in 1971, Kyoto, Japan.
Kimura completed her Master's degree from Department of Mural Painting, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. She employs the traditional technique of Japanese painting to create images of handsome men in the contemporary Eastern world from a woman's perspective. She has developed a unique painting style that intersects the past and the present together with the aesthetics from the East and the West. Aside from painting, she is into figurine-making, Kutani-yaki (Japanese porcelain) and movie art direction.
