かつて特殊飲食店として使用されていた店舗をカフェスペースとして再生。外観には白い塗装を施し、その上に星の形をしたネオン管を設置した。室内の壁、天井、床には照明を内蔵し黒い壁面で全体を覆い、星空をイメージさせる空間へと変貌させた。入り口のカフェ部分の改装は黄金町バザール終了後に行い、カフェ機能を追加した。
Jean-Luc Vilmouth took a store space formerly used as a brothel and recreated it as a café. He applied white paint to the exterior, over which he affixed a neon sign in the shape of a star. Inside the shop, he embedded lights in the walls, ceiling, and floor and resurfaced everything in black, transforming it into a space evoking the image of a starry night sky. After the conclusion of the "Koganecho Bazaar", he remodeled the café part at the entrance, adding café functionality.
1952年フランス生まれ。フランスの国立藝術大学にあたるボザールの教授。主な展示に、'82年「Documenta 7」（カッセル）、'94年「Animal Public」（Kunstverein 、ボン）、02年「Tempo」（Moma、ニューヨーク）、09年「Jungle Science」（Aline Vidal、パリ）などがある。
Profile
Born in France in 1952, Vilmouth is a professor of fine arts at École des Beaux-Arts. His major exhibitions have included 1982's "Documenta 7" (Kassel), 1994's "Animal Public (Kunstverein, Bonn), 2002's "Tempo" (MOMA, New York), and 2009's "Jungle Science" (Aline Vidal, Paris).
