After your research in Koganecho, you based your proposal on an "image" of Koganecho from an Akira Kurosawa's film "High and Low." Does this mean that you found more reality in Kurosawa's film than the actual situation of the town? A potentially related question, what are your thoughts on how film, video and new media is influencing the way we experience the world.
東京芸術大学大学院博士課程修了博士号取得。同大学先端芸術表現科講師を経て、パリにある国際的なレジデンス施設「Cite Internationale des arts」に滞在。 帰国後、パブリックスペースを利用した作品制作を展開している。
Profile
Hitoshi Yamafuji received his Ph.D. from Tokyo University of the Arts, where he also lectured in the Department of Contemporary Art. He then was in residence at the "Cite Internationale des arts" in Paris before returning to Japan, where he is currently developing artworks which make use of public space.
